The diet, which is Ketogenic, may successfully promote weight loss but can have potential side effects and consequences long-term
Steve Harvey, a resident of Culver City, decided to try the Ketogenic way of eating once he saw his mother successfully lost nearly 30 pounds following it.
Although daily government recommendations for carbohydrates suggest that between 45 and 65 percent of our daily food intake come from carbohydrates – between 225 and 325 grams – the Ketogenic diet requires only 50 grams.
Undertaking the diet can come with side effects – one of which is nicknamed “Keto flu”, symptoms of dizziness, upset stomach, and fatigue.
Harvey, known as Ketogenic Steve on his social media accounts, reported to his followers that he was initially feeling a little irritable and tired on the diet.
However, after sticking to the diet plan, he later claimed that he felt significant boosts in energy and would wake up praising the diet for his improved health.
