Scott Gooding, author of “The Keto Diet, A 60-Day Protocol to Boost Your Health” reveals why the diet works and how manipulating your bodily macros can help keep you slim.
The Keto Diet
The Keto diet has skyrocketed in popularity over the last year as even celebrities like Kim Kardashian have spoken up about their love for the diet. In his best selling book, The Keto Diet, Scott Gooding spoke about how removing specific foods from his diet helped with his aching back and how his injury dramatically healed and helped him maintain his body. The Ketogenic diet is a diet consisting of low carbs and high fat, based on how the liver produces Ketones which are used as an energy source for the body.
Scoot Gooding stated that ‘When you manipulate your macronutrients [Proteins and Fats], embrace a little calorie restriction or fasting, then you will automatically put your body into ketosis.” According to Scott, fasting even one time every few weeks will definitely show clear results.
The Benefits
The Keto Diet comes with all sorts of benefits including weight loss, bodily cleansing and much more. According to Scott, “Not only will you become a fat-burning machine, but you will also have improved cognitive function.” Fish, meat, and chicken are allowed during the diet as well as fresh vegetables while anything including high amounts of carbs is prohibited like sugar. Scoot Gooding tried the diet for himself first and said that it helped drastically with his back pain after injuring himself.
Scott states that vegetables are a big part of the diet, saying that as opposed to focusing on protein intake only, “I want you to do the opposite, and then minimise packaged foods, industrial oils like vegetable oil and canola oil, and instead replace them with extra Virgin olive oil and MCT oil.”
